Common Core Sheets for Schools and Districts
Last Updated: September 11, 2026
This page is for the person at a school or district who has to approve a website before teachers use it with students. It says, in plain terms, what the site does, what it keeps, who can see it, and how it is deleted. The full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use still apply; this page is the short, specific version for you.
Questions: ccsadmin@commoncoresheets.com. If your review needs the same facts in a document, we have a one-page vendor information sheet laid out to match the usual data privacy questionnaire; email and we will send it.
1. What the site is
Common Core Sheets is a library of free printable math and language arts worksheets, plus an optional online version of the same problems. A teacher can hand a class a link; students work the problems on a Chromebook, tablet or phone; the teacher sees the results in a gradebook. There is nothing to install and no district setup. A teacher creates a free account and starts.
2. How students get in
- Students do not have accounts. A student opens the teacher's link (or types a short code), types their first and last name, and starts. There is no student password, no student email, and no sign-in through Google, Clever, ClassLink or any other service.
- The teacher decides whether the class is open (any name is accepted) or restricted to a roster the teacher typed in.
- Nothing about a student is imported from anywhere. Everything the site holds about a student is what the teacher or the student typed on this site.
3. What we store
About a teacher (the account holder): name, email address, password (stored as a one-way hash, never readable), and optionally the school name, state and time zone the teacher enters.
About a student:
- first and last name, as typed by the teacher or the student;
- which class and which teacher the student belongs to;
- for each problem answered: the answer given, whether it was right, the time spent, the date and time, and the IP address of the device used;
- a random token if the teacher shares a parent grade link for that student.
What we do not store about a student: email address, date of birth, home address, phone number, photo, gender, student ID number, grades from any other system, or any login from another service. The site has no place to enter those, so a teacher cannot add them by accident.
4. Who can see it
- The teacher who owns the class, and any co-teacher that teacher adds by email.
- A parent, only for their own child and only through a link the teacher chooses to share. The link shows the child's name and scores, nothing else.
- Us, when a teacher asks for support.
Student data is never sold, never used for marketing, never used to build a profile of a student, and never shown to advertisers. Ad companies do not receive student names, classes or answers.
5. Other companies involved
These are every outside service that touches a page a student sees:
- InMotion Hosting (United States): the server the site runs on. All data stays on servers in the United States.
- Google Analytics: counts visits and pages in aggregate. It does not receive names, classes or answers.
- Google Fonts: the typeface is loaded from Google, which sees the device's IP address like any web request.
- Playwire: manages the advertising on the site, including on student pages. Ads are not targeted using anything a student typed. If your district requires ad-free student pages, email us and we will tell you what we can do.
Microsoft Clarity (session recording, used to improve the site) runs on teacher pages only. It is switched off on every student page by design.
We never send student data to an outside service to be processed, and no outside service can log in to the site.
6. Deleting data
- A teacher can delete a student, a class or an assignment at any time from the teacher panel.
- A teacher can delete their whole account from the My Information page. That removes every class, student and answer the account owns. A copy is held for 30 days so an accidental deletion can be reversed, then it is purged automatically.
- A school or district with a question about a teacher's student data can email us.
- Server backups are kept on a short rolling basis for disaster recovery and are overwritten automatically.
7. Security
- Every page is served over HTTPS; the site refuses plain HTTP.
- Teacher passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Students have no passwords to leak.
- Login cookies are marked Secure. Requests that try to change data from another website are refused.
- Administrative access to the server is limited to the site operator.
- Security concerns can be reported to ccsadmin@commoncoresheets.com.
8. Laws
- COPPA. No personal information is collected from a student beyond the name entered for the teacher's class, and it is used only for that class.
- FERPA. The only student records the site holds are the ones the teacher creates on it, and they are used only to score and report that work back to the teacher.
- State student privacy laws. This page and the Privacy Policy describe what we actually do. If your district's review needs something more, email us and we will look at it.
